LeBlanc, Marguerite Sophia passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Margaree, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Deagle.
Marguerite was a charter member of the St. Michael's Catholic Women's League for 54 years. She was devoted to her prayer life, upholding the ideals of the CWL. She was a wonderful home maker, who's love and concern will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom's advice of "It could always be worse" will always be remembered.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ambrose LeBlanc; sisters, Florence, Alice and Josephine and in infancy Georgina and brother Joseph.
Surviving are her children Florence (Walter) Fortune, Truro; Paulette (Clyde) LeBlanc, Margaree; Milton(Joan) LeBlanc, South West Margaree. Sisters-in-law Loretta LeBlanc, Margaree Forks; Beatrice Tompkins, Inverness. Grandchildren Marguerite(Frank) Philips, Truro; Donna Fortune, Margaree; Paula Fortune, Whistler, BC; Madina LeBlanc, Margaree. Great-Grand Children Mariah, Robert, Rory, Breton, Selina, Ryland, Sarah, Gavin, Colton. As well as former daughter-in-law Cecilia.
Visitation will take place Tuesday may 12 at Marguerite's home, 40 LeBlanc's Lane, East Margaree beginning at 2 p.m. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday May 14 at St. Michael's Church, East Margaree with Fathers Jim MacDonald and Martin MacDougall officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's cemetery, East Margaree.
Donations in Marguerite's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Sunset Funeral Co-operative, Margaree Valley.
