James William ‘Bill’ Collins, 70, of Chestnut Drive, Sydney, passed away at home on Saturday, May 9, 2009, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Sydney, he was a son of Albert and Audrey (Warren) Collins.
He worked at Kenmount Ford and Mac Maritime Trucking as a partsman.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Sampson); four daughters, Robbin Smith, Audrey (Pino) Smith and Debbie (Allan) Munro, all of Ontario and Carol Ann (Craig) Ashe, Sydney; six grandchildren, Adam Smith, Marco and Nolan Smith, Amanda Perry, Amiee and Amber Munro and one grandchild soon to arrive, due the end of May; one great-grandson, Cole Perry; one sister, Evelyn Collins, Sydney.
He was preceded by his parents and his brother, Albert ‘Abbie’.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday 11 a.m., with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating.
Memorials may be made to Palliative Care, VON or the Cape Breton Cancer Centre.
