ST. CYR - It is with great sadness that the family of Remi St. Cyr wishes to announce his passing on April 29, 2009, at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 4, 2009, at Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church in Ponteix, SK, with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. Remi is survived by his wife of 52 years, Denise; his daughters, Monique (Glen) Fisher, Suzanne (Bob) Stringer, Adele (Brent) Serbin, Claire (Albert) Power; grandchildren, Danielle, Erica, Logan, Andrea, Adam, Erin, Megan, Natacha, Blake, Jordan and Emma; sisters, Stella (George) Leblanc, Odilia (Fred) Shaefer; brother,Guy (Jenny); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Real and Ghislaine St. Cyr and sister Reina Gendreau (Henry). Remi was born on October 21, 1936. He married Denise Carignan on July 10, 1957. Together they operated a cattle and grain farm until 1996, when Remi retired and they moved to town. Remi was an avid card player. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Remi struggled with numerous health problems and was greatly appreciative of the care and compassion he received from family, friends, the community and health care workers.
