Passed peacefully away on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the L.A. Miller Centre Palliative Care Unit. Eleanor Bowering in her 83rd year. Predeceased by her parents Isaac and Eleanor Bowering; sister Ethel Vatcher (Maxwell); brothers: Lester (Pearl), Heber (Annie) and Nathan. Leaving to mourn sisters: A. Jean Mercer (Edmund), Ruth Bowering (Gerald); sister-in-law Geneva Bowering; special cousin and dear friend Gwendolyn Bowering. Also her Kelly’s Brook Hymn Sing Choir and her many friends at Kelly’s Brook apartments. Also a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, May 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle, Kenmount Road at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or the Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle Building Fund.
