Mildred Lydia “Mickey†Brown (Eaton), 98, a resident of Truro since 1927, formerly of Parkland Estates, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 in Colchester
Regional Hospital.
Born June 18, 1910 in Centreville, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Trueman and Hattie (Reid) Eaton. Mickey was educated in Kentville and Truro and married Harvey Brown of Fergus, Ont. in 1941 and together they shared the joy of friends, entertaining and travel, spending their latter years between Folly Lake and Florida. She was a life member of the Colchester I.O.D.E. and Duplicate
Bridge Club. She enjoyed nature, travel, music, the arts, correspondence, reading and volunteering. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed many friends, all of whom she cherished. She was predeceased by her beloved Harvey in 1986; brothers, Henry and George Eaton; sister, Alice Larrabee.
She will be lovingly remembered by her adopted family, niece, Glenda (Harvey) Stoliker and
family, Heather (Manfred) Goelz, Joel (Lori) Stoliker and Darryl Stoliker, all of Ontario, and by Hanna, Alyson and Annika, who affectionately called her “GGAMâ€. She is also survived by her sister-in-law,
Gladys Eaton, Berwick; nieces and nephews including: Alan (Sharron), Ontario; Irene (Tim) Hennigar, Elaine (Dennis) Stosky, Doris (Glen) Magarvey, all of Nova Scotia; Paul (Debi)
Larrabee, Jean Taylor, Keith (Doris) Hamilton, all of
Ontario.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where the memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday,
May 13, 2009. Reception will follow. Interment will be held at a later datein Cunard Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only. If so desired,
donations in Mickey’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed or honour Mickey’s memory by doing a kind deed for someone. Private messages of
