Duncan (Jackie) MacIntyre

Born In: SYDNEY, Nova Scotia, Canada
Born: November 9th, 1935

Passed in: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Passed on: May 28th, 2010

Duncan passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Ottawa. He left us as he lived his life - with dignity, humility and surrounded by those who loved him.
From humble beginnings on Union Street, Duncan earned his teaching degree at St. FX, where he made lifelong friends and was active in sports. He then accepted a teaching position in Germany, where he met the love of his life, best friend, and future wife Dee Dee.
Duncan always worked for a greater good. He helped broaden the reach of the St. FX Extension Department, led several co-op housing projects, and contributed to the work of the Coady Institute. As a tribute to his lifelong friend and mentor, he established the Topshee Memorial Conference on the principle that ordinary people can make a difference by working together.
But Duncan's best hours were spent with family and friends on board Owera and Dundee on the Bras d'Or Lakes, where part of him will live forever.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Dee; his children, John Scott, Gina and Mark; sister, Betty, and grandchildren, Cassidy, Rilee and Bradley.
Predeceased by sisters, Rita, 'De De' 'Sister', and brother, Billy.
Condolences and recollections of his many adventures can be posted at www.kellyfh.ca.
