Sister Exelda Savoie, 94, in religion, Sister Marie Joséphine, of Maison-Mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital on Monday June 1st, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Born February 11, 1916 in St. Maurice, NB, she was the daughter of the late Maxime and Jeanne (Arsenault) Savoie. She was in the 72nd year of her religious profession. Besides her religious family, she is survived by a brother, Lionel Savoie (Rosée), a sister, Juliette LeBlanc, several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Joseph, Albert, Aquila, Hector, Désiré, Albina, Joséphine, Émilienne, Laudia, and Marie.
Remains resting at Pavillon Notre-Dame-d'Acadie of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Street entrance) from where the funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 4 at 10 a.m., Father Ulysse LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in Memramcook. Visiting hours Thursday, June 3rd from 2 to 9 p.m., and Friday morning from 9 a.m. There will also be Solemn Vespers held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
