MILLIGAN, Foster Daniel - 85, Wynn Park Villa, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday morning, June 2, 2010 in the Villa. Born July 2, 1924, at Murray Road, Prince Edward Island, he was a son of the late William and Lillian (Gain) Milligan. Foster was a self-employed contractor who loved woodworking and cabinetmaking. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Foster is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Etta (Wright), Bible Hill; children, Cindi (Danny MacPhee), Fort McMurray, Alberta; Debbie (John) Murdock, Murray Siding; Kenny, Calgary, Alberta; Angus (Maria), Bible Hill; grandchildren, Daniel, Randy and CJ MacPhee, Melissa and Kerri Murdock; Alex, Shelby and Ashley Milligan; six great grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren, all of whom loved their grandfather dearly; brothers, Wyman (Velda), Alberton, PE; Frank (Josephine), St. Peter's Bay, PE; sister, Bernice Ramsay, Summerside, PE; Joyce MacKinnon, St. Peter's Bay, PE; sisters-in-law, Shirley Milligan, Moncton, NB; Edna Milligan, St. Peter's Bay, PE; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-children, Erica and Guy Smith; daughter-in-law, Shelley Milligan-Cavanagh; brothers, Sterling, Elmer, Charles; brothers-in-law, Reg MacKinnon, Ernest Ramsay; sister-in-law, Marjorie Milligan; nephews, Roger Milligan, Joey MacKinnon, Paul Milligan; grand nephew, Matthew MacIsaac. Special thanks are extended to the wonderful staff at Wynn Park Villa for the love and care shown to all of us. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Foster's family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010. Foster will then be transferred to Ferguson's Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel, where his family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m., and Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a Legion Tribute Service at 6:45 p.m. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010, also in Ferguson's Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held in Freeland Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Foster's memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
