The passing of Bryce Neely of Fredericton, NB occurred on Wednesday, June 2nd 2010 at the Veteran's Health Unit in Fredericton. He was 95. Born April 3rd, 1915 in Glasgow, Scotland he is the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Johnston) Neely. United by faith, he served with the Fredericton Police Department for 28 years retiring as Chief of Police for 15 years in 1972. Survived by five daughters, Brenda Neely-Trask (Doug) of Fredericton, Isabelle Dixon (Alfred) Fredericton, Valerie Dawes (John) of Regina, Margaret Nelson (Charlie) of Edmonton, Alberta, and Donna Budovitch (Martin) of Fredericton, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Bryce was predeceased by his wife Greta Mae (Jones) Neely.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 7, 2010 at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Tuesday, June 8th at 2 PM with Rev. H Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Donations can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 will hold a Tribute service at the funeral home on Monday June 7th at 2 PM. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
