The death of Mr. Walter Cooper, husband of Lyma (Burgess) Cooper of Grand Bay-Westfield occurred on June 4, 2010 at Ridgewood Veteran's Home. Born in Newfoundland on April 12, 1913, he was the son of the late Ester (Tizzard) and Archibald Cooper. Mr. Cooper moved to Saint John at the age of 8. Walter served in the Canadian Navy during WW II. He then worked as an orderly at the Saint John General Hospital until his retirement. Walter is survived by his wife of 30 years Lyma, 2 sisters; Flora Mercer and Dorothy Bolingbroke of Burlington, Ont., several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Johnny Adams of N.S. He was predeceased by his parents Archibald and Ester Cooper, five sisters and two brothers.
Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. 634-1701) with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. The RCL will hold a Tribute to a Veteran Service on Sunday at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. from Castle "Fallsview Chapel". Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
