CYRENNE - It is with great sadness that the family of Alice Cyrenne, of Ponteix, SK, announce her passing on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Alice was born and raised in the Broncho District. She was second eldest of four children of Noel and Berthe Dudragne. She was predeceased by her husbands Emile Stringer in 1965 and Omer Cyrenne in 1987, brothers Marcel and Armand Dudragne and her eldest son, Joseph Stringer. She is survived by her sister Juliette Cherpin and her six children: Guy Stringer (Trudy Williamson), Raymond (Michelle) Stringer, Gilles (Roxanne) Stringer, Paulette (Jules) Larochelle, Gisele (Raymond) St. Cyr, Denise (Larry) Harding, as well as her daughter-in-law Janet Stringer; 14 grandchildren Jamey Stringer, Jody Stringer, Luc Larochelle, Lynne Lemieux, Shawn Larochelle, Christopher Stringer, Tania Kendall, Cindy Stuart, Lisa Perkins, Ryan St. Cyr, Dean Stringer, Todd Stringer, Candace Threlfall, Carly Pisterzi. She also leaves 25 3/4 great grandchildren. Alice had a varied working career beginning with "La Banque Canadienne National." She was heavily involved in farming throughout her married life. In addition she held a variety of jobs enjoying the relationships she made with countless number of people. She always had a beautiful garden and one of her favorite flowers were geraniums. Her funeral service was held from the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church, Ponteix, SK on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 11:00 am with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. Organist was Claudette Begin accompanying soloist Robert Carignan and the Catholic Church Choir. Ushers were Hector Cherpin and Clem Therrien. The pallbearers were Jamey Stringer, Ryan St. Cyr, Shawn Larochelle, Todd Stringer, Tania Kendall and Luc Larochelle. The crossbearer was Carly Pisterzi and the Catholic Women's League formed an honor guard. Interment was at the Ponteix Parish Cemetery. Alice was a wonderful Mom and a beautiful person. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Donations may be made in her memory to the Foyer St. Joseph or to Bridges Personal Care Home in Ponteix.
