Gertie MacLean, 86, most recently of Calgary, formerly of Atlantic/Colby Street, Sydney and previously of Mulgrave, died May 4, 2009 at Chinook Care Nursing Home in Calgary after a long illness.
Born in Mulgrave, Guysborough County, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Florence MacDonald.
She was predeceased by her husband, James in 1993.
She is survived by her son, Jim, his wife, Corinne and their daughters, Laura, Kendra and Jensen, Calgary; as well as her sisters, Rose MacIsaac, Auld’s Cove, Ella Mae Brophy, Mulgrave, Hilda Duff, North Sydney and Clarissa Goetz, Guelph, Ont. and her brothers, Hank, Auld’s Cove, Alphonse, Elmira, Ont. and Clarence, Auld’s Cove.
She was also predeceased by her brothers, John, Stellarton and Joseph, Guelph and her sister, Jean Kelleher, Guelph.
A memorial service is being planned for late July in Mulgrave.
