It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Morris on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, N.S., he was the son of Helen (Phillips) and the late Charles Musial.
Morris was a coal miner for 27 years in both the No. 26 and Phalen collieries, and in his later life a member of Local 92 Labourers Union in Edmonton, Alta. (Fort McMurray).
A strong man and hard worker, Morris was dearly loved by family and friends for his humour, outgoing personality and outspokenness.
He enjoyed his time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing as well as restoring vehicles in his garage. He enjoyed many laughs and cups of tea with his grandchildren
He was a great husband, father, brother and grandfather and member of the Dominion community.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bridget (Poirier); daughter, Helen (Gordie) Sampson, Nashville, U.S.A.; son, Maurice (Crystal Comer), Gardiner Mines; grandchildren, his best buddy Logan and his little sweetheart, Amelie; sister, Betty Musial, Marion Bridge; brothers, Charles (Sheila) Musial, Sydney, Paul (Barbara) Musial, Gardiner Mines, Carl (Alice) Musial, New Waterford.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 11, from 12-2 p.m. at the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating.
