It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Emma Genevieve Sheaves, 62, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at the Glace Bay Health Care Facility, Glace Bay.
Born in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Berkley Anderson of Port aux Basques and the late Mary (Taylor) Anderson.
Emma was a member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney.
Besides her father Berkley, she is survived by her four sons, Richard (Donna) Blackmore, Kenny (Judy) Sheaves, Scott Sheaves and Dwayne (Carol) Sheaves; five grandchildren, Adam, Jenna, Jordan, Samantha and Emma and one great-grandchild, Chesnea; her brothers and sisters, Lorraine (Sam) Matthews, London, Ont., Ed (Kathy) Anderson, Vancouver, Doris (Dave) Farrell, Alberta, Bert (Brenda) Anderson, Kay (Fred) Gale, Sandra (Wayne) Stacey, all of Port aux Basques, Marilyn (Vince) Pearce, Colleen (Phil) Strowbridge, both of London, Ont.; brother-in-law, John (Helen) Sheaves, sisters-in-law, Myrtle (Reg) Button, Florence (Ronnie) Spencer, all of Port aux Basques.
She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Sheaves in 2008 and a son, Derek.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service for Emma will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Wesley United Church with Rev. David Luker officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
