Surrounded by her loving family on June 8, 2010 Mary Connolly passed peacefully away to join the love of her life, Herbert "Bert" Connolly, who left her 11 years ago. Mary was a resident of Carleton Kirk Lodge for almost 9 years, where she was kindly care fro by the wonderful staff in that facility. Mary was born in St. John's, Nl on August 15, 1922, the daughter of the late Agnes (Maher) and John Cahill. She was predeceased by her parent and her only brother, John Cahill. While Mary was debilitated with arthritis for many years she always maintained her wonderful caring disposition and never was one to complain about her condition. She lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary was a stay at home mother and took an active role with he children during their school years and serving on Home & School Associations and Volunteering her time to the schools they attended. Mary and Bert had a wide circle of friends in the Saint John area and they wintered in Florida for many years after Bert's retirement where they developed another group of close friends. Mary is survived by her six children, two daughters, Agnes Richardson of Quispamsis, and Mary (Les) Hansen of Caledonia, Ont.; and four sons, Jim (Pam) Connolly of Rothesay, John (Rolande) Connolly of Oakville, Ont., Don (Ann) Connolly of Quispamsis, and Gerry (Sue) Connolly of Saint John. She will be greatly missed by her twelve grandchildren, Greg, Don, Jake, Mark, Andrew, Sarah, Andrea, Angela, Amy, Patrick, Christopher, and Jenny, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Julia, Ben, Maddie, Lily, Sam, and Sadie. Funeral arrangements are being made by Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark's Church, Pettingill Rd., Quispamsis, on Saturday morning at nine o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
