James 'Jim' Russell

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jim Russell of North Sydney. He left us on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the young age of 49.
Jim was the son of the late Ross Russell and Meriam Russell Brideau. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Rosalyn Russell and brother, Raymond Russell.
Jim leaves behind his two beautiful daughters, Jamie Forrest (Chris), Calgary and Amy Russell, (Mitchell) Fort McMurray, Alta.; brothers, Ross (Vi) Russell, Chezettcook, N.S, Sandy (Lorraine) Russell and David Russell, both of North Sydney, Ron (P.J.) Russell, Halifax, Al Russell, North Sydney, Joe Russell (Amy), Millville, N.S, Lloyd Russell, Vancouver, B.C, and Troy Brideau (Raylene), Calgary, Alta.; stepfather, Richard Brideau (Jeanette), Charlottetown, P.E.I;, also many nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
Jim was a true friend and companion, always ready and willing to go the extra mile to help. He was respected by all who had the pleasure to meet him. Jim had an avid interest in fishing, playing guitar, being outdoors and working on cars.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Jim will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Reception to follow on the lower level.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Jim Russell Memorial Fund.
