Donald Ralph McKenzie, 62, of Canaan Forks, NB, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on June 9, 2010. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late Leslie and Lucy (Greenslade) MacKenzie. Donald worked as a longshoreman for 23 years and was a member of the International Longshoreman's Association Local # 273. Donald is survived by his wife Elsie (Lounsbury); his daughters: Nancy Hollis of Edmonton, AB, Kathleen Lord (Chris) of Saint John, Tammy McKenzie of Langley, BC, and Elsie Coleman (Josh) of Lakeville; his sisters: Donna Brown of Saint John, Bessie Green of USA, and Teresa Dibblee of Penobsquis; his brothers: Gordon of Wickham, Blake and Douglas of Saint John; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as by his chosen family, the Cogswell Family of Lepreau; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother, Stanley.
At Donald's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private committal service will be held in the Canaan Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to a Living Memorial would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac.
