LETKEMAN Mrs. Maria, passed away at the age of 79 years on May 11, 2009 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her children: Sandra (Reg) Fortman, Charles (Arlene) Letkeman, and Shirley (Bob) Dyke; grandchildren: Richard (Reanne) Dyke, Christina Dyke, Dallas Dyke, Brayden Letkeman, Jared Letkeman, Evan Letkeman, Tess Letkeman and Elliot Letkeman; great-grandchildren: Shyla, Kylie and Jonathan Dyke; siblings: Anna Neufeld, Tina Harder, John (Ann) Teichroeb, Sarah Penner, Abe (Agnes) Teichroeb, Gertie (Herb) Henkie, Agnes Adams and Betty Tritt; sisters-in-law: Mary (Bill) Ens, Annis (Milo) Grieg, and Tina Letkeman; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Johan and Katharine Teichroeb; parents-in-law, John and Susan Letkeman; husband, John; great-granddaughter, Jadyn Dyke; sister, Helena George; brothers-in-law: David Neufeld, Abe Harder, Ben Penner, David Adams and Jake Letkeman; sisters-in-law, Susan Simmons, and Catherine Letkeman. Mom’s life was dedicated to her family and her home. She prided herself in keeping everything in order. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the Cypress Regional Hospital and Royal University Hospital for their care and compassion. The funeral service was held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of The Open Bible with Pastor Rob Cochrane officiating. The pianist was Barb Mirau and Special Music was performed by Archie & The Boys and Maria’s grandson, Brayden Letkeman. The Eulogy was read by her daughter, Sandra Fortman. A scripture Reading was read by her brother, John Teichroeb. The ushers were, Rick Redekop and Lloyd Fehr. The Active pallbearers were sons-in-law, Bob Dyke and Reg Fortman and grandchildren: Jared Letkeman, Richard Dyke, Christina Dyke and Brayden Letkeman. The Honorary Pallbearers were grandchildren: Dallas Dyke, Evan Letkeman, Tess Letkeman and Elliot Letkeman.
