November 4, 1928 - June 8, 2010

In the dawn of a beautiful morning, we lost our beloved mother and grandmother, Wendy. Mom was born and raised in Vancouver and embarked on a career in theatre before she met our father, Jan while sailing the world on a Norwegian freighter. She left the city for a life in the Cariboo as mother extraordinaire, community volunteer, and 4H leader. 100 Mile House was their home for more than 20 years where Mom enjoyed careers in newspaper and real estate. They eventually retired on the ocean in Gibsons with acres of garden, before relocating to Kamloops in 2008. Wendy lost Jan in March 2009 and moved to Berwick Manor where she made some good friends.

She leaves behind her beloved sister Judith Filtness, her children Sydney Johnsen (Maurice), Laila Salm (Pat), Kris Johnsen (Leslie), her grandchildren Simon & Tasha Gooch, Samantha Meredith, Jordan & Tara Salm, and her great grandchildren Hailey and Quinn Meredith.

A celebration of life will be held at St Paul's Cathedral Church on June 26th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.
