Surrounded by her family, Mildred Jones of Nasonworth passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 92. Born in Moncton, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Johanna MacArthur. She was an active member of the Nasonworth Baptist Church and a member of the Clara Morgan W.M.S. group as well as a member of the Rusagonis LOBA #423. She was a long time leader in the AWANA children's group.
Mildred is survived by two sons, Roy and wife Greta of Fredericton, Glendon and wife Ruby of Quispamsis; three daughters, Eileen Meyer and husband Gordon of Noonan, Evelyn Mowat and husband Donald of Cumberland Bay and Brenda MacDonald and husband Joel of New Maryland; 10 grandchildren, Wendy Northrup, Karen Sloan, Peggy Chase, Gail Taylor, Wanda Morehouse, Willa Forestell, Patti Jones, Susan Jones, Kyle MacDonald and Brent MacDonald; 12 great grandchildren; one sister Dorothy Ward of Salmon Creek and one brother James MacArthur of Grangeville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frank and a brother Kenneth.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, N.B. where visitation will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. from the Nasonworth Baptist Church with Rev. David Gray officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
