The death of Doris Marjorie Clarke of the Kennebec Manor Nursing Home, wife of the late Gerard Christopher Clarke (2005), occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, June 18, 2010. Born February 22, 1930 in Dartmouth, N.S., Doris was the daughter of the late Harry and Marjorie (Willing) Kemble. She had been employed as a secretary with Saint John Shipbuilding for 18 years. She is survived by one son, John C. Clarke (Karen Higgins) of Morrisdale; one daughter, Maureen (Dr. Herb) Mitton of Saint John; six grandchildren, Scott, Stephen, Kristen, Christopher Hamilton (Tracey Brooks), and Jeff Hamilton (Angela Ellis), Regan Lester, several nieces, nephews, and extended family, Matt (Susie) Thompson and great grandson Ethan of Bermuda, and Sarah Mitton of Ottawa. Doris is also survived by a brother-in-law, Bernard Clarke (Muriel), of Ontario; sister-in-law Florance Matthews of Wales and several other relatives from England.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Service will be held in Fitzpatrick's Chapel on Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. www.fitzpatrickfh.com
