The passing of Rachel Faye (Wilcox) Dow, wife of the late Lester Albert Dow, of Fredericton, occurred on June 20, 2010 at Windsor Court. Born on August 22, 1911 in Presque Isle, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Waldo and Ida (Pulcifur) Wilcox. Rachel was a retail sales manager. She retired from Coomb's & Norrad's Drug Store, she also worked for many years at Agnew Surpass Shoe Store. Rachel was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Morning Out Group, of the Marysville United Baptist Church and also a member of the Golden Glo Seniors of Meductic, NB. Rachel is survived by her son, Robert W. Crawford (Irene) of Clark's Corner; one granddaughter, Christine Crawford (Neil) of Douglas Harbour; two great granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda; two step-daughters, Eva Jeffrey and Alice Harriott (Frank) both of Fredericton; six step-grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Wallace W. Crawford; four sisters, Edna, Olivia, Myrtle May and Dorothy; five brothers, Ralph, Walter, Reldon, Howard and Nathan Wilcox; sister-in-law, Maurine Wilcox.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Interment will be at Lower Meductic Cemetery, Lower Meductic at 4:30 pm.
