Brian Michael Nash, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Clayton Nash and Gladys (King) Nash.
He was a welder by trade and worked as a lobster fisherman for the past 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Brian is survived by his daughters, Natasha Nash (Dan MacLean), Nicole Nash, both of Glace Bay; and son, Roy Nash, Sydney; brother, Ron Nash (Kerri Reid); and sister, Rhonda Nash (Curtis Sampson), both of Glace Bay; and sister, Brenda Nash–Innes (Doug), Windsor, Ont. Also surviving are his niece, Emma Innes and his nephew, Tyler Gilmet (Nash).

Brian was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ina (Clark) and Michael King and paternal grandparents, Effie (Fricker) and Herbert Nash.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 19 at Patten Funeral Home ,71 Union St., Glace Bay, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Newsom United Church. Dominion Street, Glace Bay, on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Goodfellow officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the Cape Breton Cancer Center at the Regional Hospital.
