Norman Ivan “Bub†Cole, 73, Truro Heights/Malagash, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009 at home.
Born in Sackville, N.B., he was a son of the late Norman and Alma (Bulmer) Cole.
Norman was a founding member of the Malagash Heritage Museum. He was on the Deacon’s Board and a Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church, Truro for many years. He was a member of the Truro Curling Club and Toastmasters. Norman, in his retirement, enjoyed spending several winters in Florida with his wife, Drenna. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Surviving are his wife Drenna (Shaw); daughter Lisa Costandi, Kanata, Ont.; son Craig (Teri) Cole, Dartmouth; grandchildren Nathan Costandi, Ottawa, Ont., Jason Costandi, Phoenix, Arizona, Jeffrey Cole and Danielle Cole both of Dartmouth; sisters Joan (Austin) Hicks, Madeline (Jackie) Smith, all of Sackville, N.B.; brother Sidney (Ruth), Sackville, N.B.
Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by brother-in-laws Harley Smith and Ormond Beal.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his Chemo Nurses, Palliative Care Nurses and the V.O.N. You were Norman’s Angels. There will be no visitation by request. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 21 in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Andrew Crowell officiating with burial in Malagash Miner’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or First Baptist Church.
