The death of Ronald "Ron", "Ti Ti", "Papa" Bruce Draper occurred unexpectedly on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1949 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Myles and Joyce (Lawson) Draper. Ron worked as a Tour Bus driver for Can Am for many years and was also a member of the Carpenter's Union. He was a devoted hockey fan playing in his younger years and later joining as a referee. Ron's true passion was his family. Anyone who knew Ron understood that his children and grandchildren came first, no matter what the cost. He is survived by his children Betty (Greg) Melanson, Mary (John) Hanson, Ronda (Peter) Case and Jason Draper all of Saint John; former spouse Caroline Cole of Norton; grandchildren Edward Melanson and Taylor Case; brother John (Judy) Draper of Saint John and sister Lynn (Eloi) Draper-Frennette of Bathurst; several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter Britney Hanson and sister Mary Ellen. Ron's angels will miss their father greatly, but know that his true angel Britney was waiting with open arms for her "ster". Ron lived for today like there was no tomorrow.
Arrangements are under the direction on Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424). Following cremation visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ron may be made to the The Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
