MANUEL, Barbara D. (nee Camp)– Passed peacefully away, with her daughter by her side, at the Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, on September 26, 2008, Barbara D. Manuel of Lewisporte, at the age of 85, having courageously fought a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Barbara lived in her own home until June, 2005, when her husband, Andrew Donald, passed away. She then went to live with her daughter, Beverley and her husband Gerald Feltham for three years, having spent only 46 days at the Hugh Twomey Centre; she is also predeceased by parents Caroline and George Camp; sisters: Louise (Marvin Barnes), Irene Churchill and Amelia (Arch Hood). Left to mourn and treasure a lifetime of loving memories are: daughter Beverley (Gerald Feltham); sons: Allister (Wavey), Don (Maxine); grandchildren: Jeff (Joanne), Jason (Michelle), Jaret, Lisa (Derek Snow), Kelly (Brad Power), Greg (Paula) and seven adorable great-grandchildren; brother Max Camp (Jean); sister Georgie (Dave Jerrett); brother-in-law Sheldon Churchill; brother-in-law Bert Manuel (Jean); sister-in-law Sophie Manuel, a large number of nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Funeral service was held at St. Matthew’s United Church, Lewisporte, September 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with interment following at St. Matthew’s United Church Cemetery. Donations, in her memory, may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or a charity of one’s choice.
