Passed in: SYDNEY, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: June 25th, 2010
I chose today, a beautiful, sunny day in June, with a Full Moon on the rise to take my stroll to Heaven.
I've lived to lose a good husband and father, but gained a best friend. Raised eight sons and one daughter to the best of my ability and had to endure saying goodbye to one son, before his time. I have grandchildren, and great grandchildren; there was always a young one to spoil.
My love for animals kept me busy feeding any stray that walked across my doorstep.
As per my request, there will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
I am going home now; the home where my Heart is.
I am survived by seven sons, Ken (Dorothy), Ron (Dolores), Louis, Jim (Sylvia), John (Shirley), Kevin (Brenda), Glen; and one daughter, Kim (Edward) Ivany. Helen is also survived by a brother, Joe O'Dea; sister, Aggie (O'Dea) Burke; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and my best friend forever, Myles.
Predeceased by husband, Reginald Assoun, a son, David, brothers, Tom, John 'Jeep' and Ron, sister, Theresa and parents, Jack and Mary O'Dea.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Pier Community Funeral Home.
Online condolences may be sent to info@pierfuneralhome.com.
