The passing of Alexander "Smokey" LeBlanc of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 26, 2010. He was 84. Born February 20, 1926 in Chatham, N.B., he was the son of the late Alexis and Marie Anne (Basque) LeBlanc. For 16 years he was employed with Johnson DuPlessis Auto-Electric and later owned and operated Carb-Electric on Hanwell Road for 23 years. Roman Catholic by faith, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, United Commercial Travelers and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.4 Fredericton. Survived by his sister Carmel Sweeney of Ontario; a sister-in-law Ruth LeBlanc of Fredericton; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and a brother John P. LeBlanc.
