PALMER, Hazel Maud– Passed peacefully away at the Escasoni Home, Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the age of 85 as her grandchildren sang “As I went down in the river to pray, studying about that good old way and who shall wear the robe and crown, Good Lord, show me the way.” Hazel was born on August 03. 1923 in Burnt Point, Conception Bay and at an early age moved to Corner Brook. On November 17, 1941 she married her loving husband Andrew Palmer. After 16 years of operating their own business and beginning their family, they decided to devote their lives to sharing their love of God in ministry to people. From 1958 to their retirement in 1986 God used them to share his love and touch so many peoples' lives. Hazel was predeceased by her precious daughter Sylvia, parents - William and Cecilia Tucker, sisters - Elizabeth, Rhonda and Ethel. Left to mourn and celebrate her wonderful life is her cherished husband Andrew; her children: Evelyn (Wilson) Quinton, Muriel (Barry) Budgell, Lloyd (Yvonne), Alvin (Elena), Marie (Tony) Ryan, Ted (Susan), Raymond (Barbara) and Brenda (Paul) Perry. Also left to mourn her passing are twenty-one grandchildren, sixteen grandchildren and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road on Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 04, 2008, at the Chapel in Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, St. John's, Newfoundland. The service will be conducted by Pastor T. Paul Perry with tributes and music by members of her family. Caul’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care and funeral arrangements.
