The passing of Angus Walter Milton of Fredericton, NB, husband of Elda (Thomas) Milton occurred on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 6, 1935 in Petitcodiac, NB, he was the son of the late Eric and Hazel (Wilson) Milton. Angus worked as a design draftsman at NB Electric Power Commission, where he met his wife Elda. He established the Red Lantern Beverage Room which he operated for 25 years. In his younger years he worked with both the Sea Cadets and the Air Cadets as an instructor and also worked with the Emergency Measures Rescue Group; he flew single engine aircraft; had his glider license and was a registered hunting guide. The legacy he leaves behind has been passed on to his children and grandchildren. Angus lived life to the fullest; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed with loving memories and respect. In addition to his wife, Elda, Angus is survived by his sons, Mike and John (Lisa); granddaughters, Sarah, Megan and Ashley; sister, Anna (Everett) Steeves; sister-in-law, Dawn (Ted) Sullivan; brothers-in-law, Richard (Joan) Thomas and Steven Thomas; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Angus was predeceased by his brother, Herbert and his wife, Mae; sister, Doreen and her husband, Jack Crammond.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. A Private Family Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to express how grateful they are to have had Rose Currie and Janice Anderson in Angus's and their lives, as caregivers and friends; you two excel.
