Nee Langille, April 30, 1930-May 10, 2009, age 79, with loving family at her side. Married to Mickey for 57 years. Cherished mommy of Wayne, Edmonton; Ron (Leslie), Cobden; Pat, Cobden. Dearest grandmother to Gina Lipton, Toronto, lovingly raised by Eileen and Mickey; Brendon Clouthier (Erin), Eganville; Giselle Clouthier (Garry), Petawawa; Bryce Clouthier (Michele), Dunrobin; Greg Lipton (Amy), Cayman Islands; Kim Conway (Jeremy), Sault Ste. Marie. Great grandmother to Dakota and Jayden Conway of Sault Ste. Marie. Step grandmother to Robin, Jenny and Dave Grieve of Edmonton. Great step grandmother to Sabrina and Hayden of Edmonton.
Eileen started her career with Maritime T&T as an operator at age 18 in New Glasgow, N.S. After the birth of her children, Mickey and Eileen moved to Petawawa when Mickey joined the military in 1958. They had a 2 year tour in Germany and then settled back in Petawawa. She then worked as a telephone operator and chief operator until 1973 when they moved back to N.S. In 2005 they moved to Cobden because of her illness, to be with daughter Pat. She will be remembered as small and feisty and a kind and caring mother and wife. her many talents includedbeing a remarkable seamstress, an avid crafter and great cook. Her houseplants were spectacular.
Eileen’s life will be celebrated by Christian Mass at Sacred heart, Cobden by Father Ryan Holly on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. Fellowship and refreshments to follow after the service at Pat Lipton’s home, 915 Behm Line, R.R. #5, Cobden Hwy. #8, pass Schauer’s Home Hardware, 1st turn to left, Behm Line in 1.4 km.
Eileen’s remains will be buried “back home” in Stellarton, N.S. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzhiemers Society would be appreciated.
