It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the sudden passing of our dear father, son and brother, on May 18, 2009, at home.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of Angus and Helen (Walker) Burton. Although he spent the last several years in Sydney, Lawrence had very fond memories of the years he spent living close to nature, hunting, fishing and many hours with family on the shorline of “Burton’s Beach†in South Harbour.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his sons, Ryan and Shane (Kaitlyn); a beautiful granddaughter, Brooke Erin; brothers, Troy, Ken; sister, Charlene; grandmother, Helen Burton; niece and nephews.
There is no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, May 21, at 2 p.m. in the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Lawrence will be laid to rest next to his brother, Glenn Arthur in the Aspy Bay Cemetery at a later date.
