J. Irene Cairns, of West Saint John, NB, passed away July 4, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on August 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Elizabeth Howe. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great - grandmother, also she was an avid bingo player. She is survived by sons, Steven (Debbie) and Gary (Nancy) both of Saint John; grandchildren, Sheri Miller, Brian Miller, Donald Cairns and Lindsay Cairns, special friend, Matthew Miller, great - grandchildren, Jessica Miller, Kennadie Wilson and Abigail Miller. She was predeceased by her husband, Warden W. Cairns, brother, Robert (Tim) Howe, and sisters, Shirley Rhyno and Norma Howe.
Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John, N.B. Cremation has taken place. Visitation on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 1 p.m..
