Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Sunday, May 17th, 2009, Alphonsus Coombs of Portugal Cove South, age 78 years. Predeceased by parents Patrick and Jane Coombs and brother Cyril. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, Wife of 49 years Carmel (Finlay). Children: Darlene (Fergus Hickey), Sandra (Martin Hickey), Phonse (Viola), Gertie (Sean Molloy), Cynthia (Tony Power), and Bernadette (Chris Crocker). Grandchildren: Jillian, Jenny, April, Brittany, Samantha, Courtney, Rachel, Jenelle, Kaitlyn, Earlene and Nicholas. Brothers: France (Ann), Mike (Rose), Herbert (Violet), and Don (Ann). Sisters: Violet Perry (Jim deceased), Josephine St. Croix (Austin deceased), and Peggy White (Willie). Sister in-law: Bridget Coombs, and a large circle of family and friends. Visitation Tuesday, May 19th from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church, Trepassey.
