Passed peacefully away Sunday, May 17th, 2009, in the presence of his loving and devoted family, Ronald Joseph Whelan at 73 years. Predeceased by his parents Mollie and Patrick Whelan and brothers: John and Paddy. Leaving to mourn his wife Kay (Corrigan) and daughters: Diane (John Hynes), Juanita (Joe Butler), Sylvia (Jack Shelley), Cathy (Dave Dawe); sisters: Beth (Rick O’Grady), Joan (Bill Fewer), Madeline (Scott Sheppard); aunts: Bridget Davis and Madeline Brown; uncle Mike Tremblett; his treasured grandchildren: Nicholas, Jessica, Jenna, Dominique, Mitchell and Jake; the Corrigan family; nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Monday, May 18th, and Tuesday, May 19th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass from St. Peters Parish, 112 Ashford Drive, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment to take place at a later date.
