Jean Eleanor Scott, age 87, passed away on May 16, 2009 at Providence Place, her home for the last 12 years. Jean will be dearly missed by her sons: Ken (Martha) - Saskatoon and Jim (Shirley) - Calgary, and her daughters: Betty Shurnaik (Wes), Sandra Cleniuk (John Denney), and Shirley Dombowsky (Joe) all of Moose Jaw. Jean was also blessed with 13 grandchildren: Kelly, Terry (Darla); Sonya; Karri (Silas), Tara-Lynn (Noel); Candice (Frank), Elan, Alexandra (Zach); Amanda (Mike), Adam (Laura), Sarah (JR), Daniel and Mary; as well as 13 great grandchildren with her 14th great-grandchild expected in June. She is also survived by her brother Bob of B.C., along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Norman, parents Nelson and Florence, brothers Lloyd, Raymond, and Harold, and sisters Etta and Margaret. Jean was born on August 18, 1921 in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. Jean married Norman Arthur Scott on July 24, 1941. After Norman returned home from serving overseas during World War II, they stayed in the Qu'Appelle Valley before making Moose Jaw their home in 1956. Although Jean struggled most of her adult life with narcolepsy and cataplexy she lived everyday to the fullest. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff of Providence Place for taking such good care of Mom. A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday May 23, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Family memorialization will take place at a later date. Memorials to Providence Place, 100 2nd Ave.N.E., S6H 1B1, would be appreciated. In living memory of Jean, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
