WALTER – Dorothy Ann passed away peacefully May 14, 2009 at her home. Dorothy is survived by her sons and daughters, David (Brenda), Bruce (Nadine), Katherine (Kerry Setter), Tom (Laura), Barbara (Guy Prosak); daughter-in-law Marilyn Walter and son-in-law Rick (Bonita) Sandherr; fifteen grandchildren and sister-in-law Pat Keenan. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, her son Brian and three brothers, Jack, Eugene and Claude Keenan. Dorothy was born on December 4, 1923 in Moose Jaw, spending her childhood and high school years there. She also took her x-ray technician training and started her career. She met and eventually married Gordon Walter in Moose Jaw after his return from the Second World War. They lived in various communities through the province due to Gordon’s work with SaskTel until settling in Prince Albert to raise the family. Dorothy also returned to work at both Prince Albert hospitals at the time. She was involved with the CWL, The Watsonairres, played the piano and spent time golfing, curling, square dancing and generally keeping busy with activities shared by her husband. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Sacred Heart Cathedral with celebrant Reverend Father Maurice Fiolleau. Memorial donations can be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
