BONVIE: Lawrence (Red) Herbert passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on 20 May 2009 in West Kelowna, BC.
He his survived by Helene, his spouse; children Freeda (Jim) Wilson, Lawrence Jr. (Angel) Bonvie and Chantal Bonvie; grandchildren Sheena Wilson (Craig Harvey), Erica Dawson and Dakota Bonvie; sisters Freda Smith (Bill), Margaret Kirk (Terry), Nellie (George) Brennan, Lottie (Del) Murray, Hilda (Don) MacNeil, Mabel (Ricky) Cameron, Helen Bonvie; several in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and many very dear friends.
After his retirement from Michelin’s Granton plant, Lawrence moved to British Columbia. His utmost love and pride was his family. Travelling, cooking and Wednesday night cards at Monticello were among his favourite pastimes. Lawrence was an avid outdoorsman and tremendously enjoyed his annual fishing and hunting trips with friends and family.
He was predeceased by parents Herbert and Freda (Reid) Bonvie; step-mother Florence (Cresine) Bonvie; parents-in-law Lucien and Therese (Ayotte) Goyette; sister Doris Harnish; grandson Maxwell Lawrence Wilson.
Special thanks to Dr. G. Verster, to the Central Okanagan Palliative team, to the Emmanuel Assembly Church, to our supportive friends and family. Your caring has helped Lawrence and his family during these difficult times.
Cremation has taken place at Hanson’s Arbor Funeral & Cremation Centres, West Kelowna, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, The Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation, The Central Okanagan Hospice Palliative Care or to a charity of your choice.
