With great sadness we wish to announce the passing of Gladwin Cecil Norrad, of Taxis River, NB on July 8, 2010, at 53 years of age. Gabby was the beloved husband of Susan (Munn) Norrad; wonderful father of Jamie (Lisa) and Farrah (Jeff) Hodgson; and dearest grandfather of Connor. In addition, Gabby is survived by his mother, Margaret Norrad; sisters, Yvonne, Winnie (Milton), Isabel (Juddy) and Annabelle; brothers, Harry (Regina), Weldon (Mary), Perry (Judy) and Trevor (Erin). He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and very many friends. Gabby was predeceased by his father, Cecil Norrad; brother, Ray; and sister, Laura Norrad. Gabby worked in Silviculture. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, lawn work, CB radios, music, songwriting, playing his guitars, banjo, keyboard and recording music in "Gabby's Little Studio".
Visitation took place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. At the family's request, no funeral service will be held.
