It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Marie Hynes-Merrill announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, on Monday, July 12, 2010, at the age of 90 years. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters: Dora Chapman of Stephenville, Mazie Midyette of North Carolina and Jordyn Hynes of Stephenville; six sons: James (Bertha) Hynes of Ship Cove, Leo (Ellen) Hynes of Highlands, Bertram (Lucy) Hynes of Stephenville, Jerome Hynes of Toronto, Ontario, Leroy (Edliza) Hynes of Toronto, Ontario and Lenny Hynes of Toronto, Ontario; special grandchildren: Donald Hynes, Debbie White and Tammy Hynes and a large circle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, relatives, friends and special neighbour, Kenneth O'Leary of Port au Port East. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Ellen Marche; husbands: Wilbert Hynes and Percy Merrill; special grandsons: Calvin Hynes and Robert Hynes and her brothers and sisters. Friends may call at the Maria Regina Parish, Port au Port East, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Maria Regina Parish, Port au Port East with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port au Port East. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Maria Regina Parish would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, Stephenville.
