MRS. EVA DURAND 1910 - 2010 It is with sadness that the family announces that Mrs. Eva Durand passed away peacefully at Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Eva was born January 14th, 1910 in Thompsonville, Massachusetts and moved to Prince Albert in 1911. She met Ernie Durand in 1923 and they were married on October 30, 1928. Eva and Ernie lived thirteen years in Albertville, where Eva stayed home and raised their children. In 1941 they decided to leave the farm and moved to Prince Albert. Eva enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and playing cards. She also enjoyed quilting and singing in church. Left to mourn her passing is her loving family: her children Edward of Parksville, BC, Loretta Demque of BC, Rita Hebert of Prince Albert, Don (Julie) of St. Albert, AB, Raymond (Sheila) of Prince Albert, SK; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters Mable (Gerald) Stuart and Rose (Alex) Dibacy; her brother Robert (Sally) Samson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Cora; her parents-in-law Ludger and Anna; her husband, Ernie, after 71 years of marriage in 2000; her son Wayne in 2001; her brothers Wilfred, Alfred, Arthur, Philip, Dollard, and Edward; her sons-in-law Paul Hebert, Archie McGunnigal, and Arnold Demque; her daughter-in-law Gertie. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13th, from River Park Memorial Chapel - 301 River Street West. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14th from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church - 260-25th Street East by the Reverend Father Matthew Nguyen. It is the family's request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home. Interment will take place in Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Garden.
