It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charles Alfred Delaney announce his passing on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing, at the age of 89 years. He leaves to mourn with many precious memories, daughters: Viola Delaney and Margaret (Melvin) Hapgood; grandchildren: Julia, Michael, Sandra, Paul, Todd, Melanie and Jonathan; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers: William (Monica) Benoit and Austin Jr. (Jean); sisters: Edna (Stan) Temple and Elizabeth (Ron) White, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Bedelia (nee Cormier); adoptive parents-grandparents: Julia Ann Delaney-Kendall, William Delaney, Arthur Kendall; parents: Austin Benoit and Corsinie Delaney; brother, Leo Benoit. Visitation will take place from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, St. George's, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon from where the Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will take place following the Mass in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shallop Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
