It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mary Alexandra Cartwright, formerly of Georges River, on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney.
Mary was born on Oct. 25, 1925 in Florence, the daughter of the late Roderick and Mary Florence (Hosking) MacInnis. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church in Sydney Mines. She was a loving mother to her 14 children and will be deeply missed.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Ken Jr., Wallace (Karen), Ellen (Ron) Smith, David (Jackie), Rosanne Boyce, Arthur (Mary), Deborah (Ken) Lalonde, Robert (Barbara), Glenn (Alain), Paul (Wendy), Carl (Joanne), Ruth (Greg) Lively; her 31 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; her six brothers, Bill, Roddie, Duncan, Thomas, Farrell and Hughie MacInnis and two sisters, Emma Will and Annette Osland and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Kenneth Cartwright; her two daughters, Carolyn Ann and Shauna and by her sisters, Viola, Angeline, Frances and brothers, John and Elmer; son-in-law, Ron Smith.
Visitation for Mary will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday at Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines with Rev. Glen Kent officiating. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. Following the funeral, a reception will be held in the Georges River Fire Hall.
