It is with great sadness that the family of the late PIERCE G. HICKEY of Terrenceville announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Friday July 9, 2010 at the age of 77. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Mary of 48 years; sons Joseph (Jeanette) Hickey of Ottawa, ON, Darren Hickey of Labrador City, Craig (Karen) Hickey of St. John's, and Robert Hickey of Terrenceville; daughters Paula (David) Evans of Dartmouth, NS, Maureen (Ren) Hodder of Mount Pearl, and Jackie (Mike) Downs of Manitoba; sister Eileen (Mike) Parsons of B.C.; brothers James (Ann) Hickey, John (Evelyn) Hickey, and Billy (Eileen) Hickey all of Terrenceville; 17 grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by son Gerard (1999) and grandson John Downs (2005). Funeral Mass took place at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Terrenceville on Monday July 12, 2010 at 2:00pm. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Bernard's. In Pierce's memory, donations may be made to St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Terrenceville or flowers gratefully accepted.
