November 3, 1951 to July 17, 2010 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Elaine Aevis, who died at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 17, 2010 after fighting a courageous battle with brain cancer. Marilyn was born in Saint John New Brunswick on November 3rd, 1951. She was a cherished daughter to Norman and Florence Cole of Nauwigewauk. A beloved sister to Carolyn Snow (Jeff), Evelyn Arseneau (Terry) Norma Soucy (Danny) of Hampton, Sandra London (Allan), Steven Cole of Saint John, Danny Cole of Rothesay and the late David Cole (Theresa) of Hampton. Marilyn was a proud mother to her four girls Keri Van Wart of Rothesay, Tara Van Wart of St Stephen, Kelly Viergutz (Jimmi) of Calgary, Vicki Cormier (Dan) of Red Deer. Marilyn's girls loved her dearly. She leaves behind two grandchildren Tristan Daniel Cormier and Marly Jean Hatt.
Marilyn worked as a nurse for seventeen years on Rehab at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed the friendships that she made. She is fondly remembered for always having a story to tell. Never boring, Marilyn enjoyed attending dances, karaoke, coffee with friends, going for walks and time at the beach. She loved antiques and pottery. Always there for her family, friends and daughters . She was a precious gift to us all.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday and Tuesday, July 19 and 20, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10 am. Interment will take place in St. Jospeh's Cemetery.
