Stellarton- Marion Virtue Hoare (nee Walton) in her 80th year passed away peacefully in her home on Jubilee Ave., Stellarton on July 18, 2010. Dear daughter of the late Thomas and Hilda (Mason) Walton and was born and raised in Evansville, NS.
Marion was enthusiastic about swimming and loved to pray the rosary while admiring her beautiful garden. She loved people and especially her children and grandchildren. They were the light of her life. Marion was truly a family person who loved all of her brothers and sisters and will be sadly missed by the Walton and Hoare families.
Marion is survived by her children Robert (Chris), Calgary; Kenny (Darlene), New Brunswick; Janice (Darren), Calgary; Michael (Allisha), New Glasgow, Rick (Cathy), New Glasgow; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; loving sister of Bob (Gail), Calgary; sisters Freda Boyd, Ontario; Betty Lou (Buddy), Halifax; Vera ((Bob), Ontario; Brenda (John), Stellarton; Sharon, Stellarton; Patsy, Ontario; Janie and Jerry, New Brunswick; loving aunt to many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Marie and Joyce; brothers-in law Bernie, Donnie, David and Doug..
She was predeceased by her husband Warrant Officer Robert Gregory (Bob) Hoare of New Glasgow who was a longtime member of the Black Watch in Camp Gagetown, Oromocto, NB; sons David and Tommy; granddaughter Michele; brothers Eddie and Grandville; sister Shirley; brother-in-law Bumper Hoare
Visitation will be from 7-9 pm Wednesday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Thursday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL will follow in the Sister Catherine Steele Centre.
Donations in memory of Marion may be made to the Diabetic Association.
