William Beatteay
Born: September 4th, 1921
Born September 4th, 1921, son of William M. and Gertrude (nee Cole).
A life long Westside resident, Bill served in the Canadian Forces in England as RCEME, rank of Sgt., where he met his wife Robin (nee Gwendoline Sherwood). He served in the Reserves after WWII as a Warrant Officer II. Bill was an X-Ray technician at the DVA Hospital and Provincial Hospital (Centracare) until his retirement. He was a Founder of the Lancaster Little League, served on the executive of the Saint John Lacrosse and New Brunswick Lacrosse Associations, Saint John Minor football League, Boy Scouts and Cubs at St. Jude's Anglican Church for many years, a member of the Masonic Lodge and Past President of Carleton Curling Club. His loves were his Wife, family and life.
Bill is predeceased by his parents; stepmother, Mary (Armstrong); and daughter, Kathleen (Dale Alexander).
He is survived by sisters, Jean (George Cameron), of Saint John, Rhea (William MacKay), of Charlottetown; daughter, Lynn; sons, Richard (Phyllis), Stephen (Roxanne), all of Saint John; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
An avid photographer and jack knife carpenter, his smile and warmth will be missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service will be held at Fallsview Chapel, on Thursday at 2 pm. Interment in the Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, Field of Honor, visiting at Fallsview on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Donations can be made to Rocmaura Nursing Home Foundation, or a charity of the choice would be appreciated by the family.
