It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Mason announces her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on July 18th, 2010 at the age of 98.
Born on July 8th, 1912 in Boiestown, NB, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Artie (Bamford) Murphy.
She is survived by her daughters, Dawn (nee Daye) (Gary) Allen, of Brigham, QC, and Barbara (nee Daye) (Doug) Cain, of Fredericton; stepson, Hugh MacDowell, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; stepdaughter, Sherry Bruner of Orange Park, Fl. Seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husbands, Roy E. Daye, Ralph R. MacDowell, and Rev. Merle Mason; brothers, Earl Murphy, and Owen Murphy; and sisters, Tillie Gorman, and Pauline Mutrie. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Helen was an active member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, and was involved in several groups including the Y's Menettes, CGIT Leader, IODE, and had been church treasurer at George St. Church.

A celebration of Helen's life will take place at Grace Memorial Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 at 2:00 pm with visitation and reception to follow in the vestry. Rev. Doug Hapeman will officiate. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Ext. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
