1928-2010 - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our Mother Violet Grace (Lawrence) (Spragg) Fairweather at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 25, 2010, wife of the late Albert (Abe) Samuel Fairweather. Born in Saint John, on May 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Bernadette (Thibodeau) Lawrence. She was employed for a number of years at the Admiral Beatty Hotel. She was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. She was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed. Survived by her children, Sandra (Hans) Langguth of Quispamsis, Carole Spragg of Saint John, Brian (Linda) Spragg of Saint John, Terry Spragg of Brampton, ON, Jimmy Spragg of Saint John, Melody (Colin) Coady of Moncton; step children Mary Hatto of Saint John, Roxanne (Danny) Tytler of Quispamsis, Albert (Susan) Fairweather of Rothesay, John (Carolyn) Fairweather of Hamilton, ON, Ronald (Maggie) Fairweather of Saint John, Jamie Fairweather of Saint John; four sisters Mae Barry, Marjorie (Bill) Coholan, Fanny (Donald) Hanlon and Bertie Doyle; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Albert, Violet was predeceased by her first husband Joseph Spragg, brother Harold Lawrence and son Ronald Lawrence.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception in the reception area.
