The death of Caroline Rickard of Greenwood Drive, occurred on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on September 27, 1928 at Barkers Point to the late Russell and Fern (Brown) Rickard. Caroline worked for the New Brunswick Electric Power Commission (now NB Power) as an administration clerk for many years until her retirement. Her hobbies included knitting, cooking and following the career of her beloved Sidney Crosby. Caroline enjoyed spending time with her good friend Peggy Rickard and the Birthday club girls. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Munn (Gerry) of Saint John; two brothers: David (Eleanore) of Fredericton and Rickard (Hazel) of Riverview; three grandchildren: Scott, Ryan (Denise) and Jarrett and her nieces and nephews and brother in law Ralph. Besides her parents Caroline was predeceased by four brothers: Allan, Buster, Ronald and Jim; sister in-law, Patsy and Nephews Kevin and Randy.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7424). At Caroline's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will be held in Sunnybank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
